Preparing Glass for Stained Glass Projects : Using Breaking Pliers to Cut Glass Pieces

I'm going to take my breaking pliers, and gently separate it, hoping that that one piece of that body stays all together. Now you see this piece ran another direction, but that's okay, it didn't mess up what I'm trying to get out of this. So, let's see if we can get this...yea! Okay, so there, I've got one half of the body. And this is okay, it chipped a little bit into there, but we're going to cover it with foil and when the solder goes on there, that should be okay.

There's enough of allowance for that, I believe, and we'll see as we get further into this. And take this other piece off the head, and there you go! I'm going to have to do a little bit of grinding, and I still have to get the other side off of here, so let's go ahead and score this other side as well. Now this one, I'm going to run it here, because if I try and go straight like that on that part, it would probably break my body, and I don't want to do that if I can help it. Just remember, glass is patience, you're going to have to have patience to do this. Sometimes your glass will break the way you don't want it to, and you just have to get another piece of glass, but the main thing is just have fun. So I'm going to move this part just like that so I don't break it. And we're going to separate our other piece of glass. Whoops! There we go, there's that, and that.

And I've almost got three separate pieces.
